Are multiple systems supported with the widget?
Yes. The widget supports multi-system accounts. During configuration, all devices from all systems are listed, and customers can add devices from multiple systems to a single widget.
Note: System names are not included in the widget. Therefore it is recommended to create unique names for Scenes to indicate which system the command is used for.
Will all devices in a Scene be automated when using the widget?
Yes. Triggering a Scene using the widget allows any device in the Scene to be automated, even if it is not individually supported by the System Control widget (e.g., Alarm.com-supported smart thermostats).
If I delete the Alarm.com app, will the widget be removed?
Yes. If you delete the Alarm.com app from your device, the widget is also removed.
Does the System Control Widget refresh automatically?
No. The System Control Widget automatically updates every 30 minutes or manually updates when you open up the Alarm.com app. Due to this, commands sent to security devices may display as Sent until the app has been opened or an automated update occurs. It is recommended to use the System control widget in conjunction with push notifications to ensure a seamless experience.
Can the widget be used in conjunction with Face ID or Passcode lock for the Alarm.com app?
By default, the system control widget is not available when Face ID or Passcode protection has been enabled in order to protect from unwanted access to the Alarm.com app. However, this setting can be bypassed.
To bypass Face ID or Passcode authentication for widgets
- Log in to the Alarm.com app.
- Tap [More Options].
- Tap App Settings.
- Tap Widget Settings.
- Tap to enable the Bypass Face ID to use widget toggle switch.
