How can I have my panel arm when I scan my Access Control keycard?

Overview

An Access Control panel can be set up to arm upon a double card swipe using the Alarm.com app or website. Important: The option to arm the panel upon a successful double card swipe is only available to panels using an LTE or Dual-Path module.

Procedure

To add a rule to arm a security panel upon double card swipes using the Alarm.com app

  1. Log in to the app.
  2. Tap [Menu].
  3. Tap Automation.
  4. Tap [Add] to create a new rule.

Next to when, tap Select.

  1. Tap Door, then tap Next.

In Door, selected the desired door.

In Select Status, select Door Accessed with Double Swipe.

In Select Security Level, use the dropdown menu to select the desired User Group that will be eligible to trigger the rule.

Note: For information about how to designate a user to a specific user group, see Can Access Control automation rules be configured to only work with specific users?.

  1. Tap Done.
  2. Tap then to select the automation device and trigger.
  3. Tap Security Panel, then tap Next.

In Select Action, select Arm Stay or Arm Away, then tap Done.

Note: To avoid arming level conflicts, the option to create both a double swipe to arm stay rule and a double swipe to arm away rule for the same door is not possible.

  1. Enter the desired name for the rule.

If desired, next to Run at all times, tap Select to edit when the rule will run.

  1. Tap to select At All Times for the rule will be carried out any time of day.
  2. Tap to select Only during the following times to determine the specific days and times the rule will be carried out.
  3. Tap to select the days the rule will be active.

Using the Starting at dropdown menu, tap the start time for this rule.

Using the Ending at dropdown menu, tap the end time for this rule.

After selecting times for the rule to run, tap Done.

  1. Verify the rule is configured with the correct settings.
  2. Tap Save.

To add a rule to arm a security panel upon double card swipes using the GoSafer Security customer portal (powered by Alarm.com):

  1. Log in to the website.
  2. Click Automation.

In Rules, click Add New Rule.

  1. Click when to select the trigger device and action.
  2. Click Door, then click Next.

In Door, selected the desired door.

In Select Status, select Door Accessed with Double Swipe.

In Select Security Level, use the dropdown menu to select the desired User Group that will be eligible to trigger the rule.

  1. Click Done.
  2. Click then to select the automation device and trigger.
  3. Click Security Panel, then click Next.

In Select Action, select Arm Stay or Arm Away, then click Done.
