Create/edit a Gate Open or Gate Close notification

A Gate Opened/Closed notification can notify users if the gate is opened or closed.

Procedure

To create/edit a Gate Open/Close notification using the Alarm.com app

  1. Log in to the Alarm.com app.
  2. Tap [Menu].
  3. Tap Notifications.
  4. Tap [Settings].

Create a new Gate Open/Close notification or edit an existing one.

If the notification has not been created, tap [Add], and then tap Gate Open/Close.

To edit the notification, tap to select the Gate notification.

Rename the rule.

In When, tap to select the names of the of the gates to be notified about.

In Is, tap to select the gate actions to be notified about.

In During this time frame, tap to specify when to receive notifications.

At All Times will send a notification anytime of day if the Gate status changes.

Only during the following times specifies the days and times that the notifications will be sent.

In Notification Filtering, there is the option to receive notifications based on Geo-Device rules.

  1. Tap to select Do not send notifications that occur within and use the dropdown menu to limit the number of notifications sent.

There is also the option to receive a notification based on geographical location in When selected people cross a Geo-Fence by selecting the Geo-Devices and crossing preferences.

To add notification recipients, tap Add.

  1. Tap to select the desired recipients from the Address Book, or add an unlisted recipient by tapping Add Contact.
  2. Tap Close.
  3. Verify the notification is configured with the correct settings.
  4. Tap Save.

To create/edit a Gate Open/Close notification using the GoSafer Security customer portal (powered by Alarm.com)

  1. Log in to the GoSafer Security customer portal (powered by Alarm.com).
  2. Click Notifications.

Create a new Gate Open/Close notification or edit an existing one.

If the notification has not been created, click New Notification, and then click to select Gate Open/Close.

To edit an existing notification, click [Edit] for the Gate Open/Close notification.

Name the notification.

In When, click to select the names of the gates to be notified about.

In Is, click to select the gate actions to be notified about.
