Create/edit a light automation schedule

Light automation schedules turn your lights on and off based on set times.

Procedure

To create a light automation schedule using the Alarm.com app

To create a light automation schedule using the Alarm.com app

  1. Log in to the Alarm.com app.
  2. Tap [More Options].
  3. Tap Automation.
  4. Tap [Add].
  5. Tap New Schedule.

In Type Schedule Name Here, enter a name for the schedule.

  1. Tap When to select the time the schedule should run.

In Time, tap to select an available time for the scheduled action to run (e.g., Specific Time, Sunrise, Sunset).

In Occurrence, tap to select one of the following options

Always will occur every day.

Specific Days will occur on the selected days of the week.

  1. Verify the selection, then tap Next.
  2. Tap Then to select the devices and action.
  3. Select the Light/Switch as the device type to schedule.
  4. Select the specific device.

In Status, select the action that will occur.

  1. Turn On - This will turn on the selected lights at the desired time.
  2. Turn Off- This will turn off the selected lights at the desired time.

Dim - This will dim the compatible selected lights to the selected percentage at the desired time.

Use the slider to select the desired dimness level for this option.

Note: This option will only apply to lights with a dimming feature.

Color - This will display the selected color for compatible selected lights at the desired time.

Use the color selector to select the desired color for this option.

Note: This option will only apply to multi-color lights.

  1. Verify the selection, then tap Next.

If time adjustments are desired

  1. Tap the second condition card for exact or approximate time selection. (e.g., Run At Exact Times, Exactly At Sunrise, etc.).

If Specific Time was selected for When, tap Run at approximate times to give or take about 45 minutes to the entire schedule.

If Sunrise or Sunset was selected for When, use the Time Offset dropdown menu to select the amount of time before or after sunset or sunrise.

  1. Tap Done.

If a second action is desired

  1. Tap Add Follow Up Action.

In Time, select when the follow-up action should occur and then tap Next.

  1. Verify the schedule is configured with the correct settings.
  2. Tap Save.

To create a light automation schedule using the GoSafer Security customer portal (powered by Alarm.com)

  1. Log in to the GoSafer Security customer portal (powered by Alarm.com), or Log In With Access to the customer's account on the Partner Portal.
  2. Click Automation.
  3. Click Schedules.
  4. Click Add New Schedule.

If prompted, click New Schedule Builder.

In Type Schedule Name Here, enter a name for the schedule.

  1. Click When to select the time the schedule should run.

In Time, click to select an available time for the scheduled action to run (e.g., Specific Time, Sunrise, Sunset).
