Overview

AI Activity Filters allows you to type or speak a question and get the answers you need in seconds. It searches across all your property’s system events, saving time and making it easy to stay in the know. AI Activity Filters is available using the Alarm.com app and GoSafer Security customer portal (powered by Alarm.com).

Procedure

To access AI Activity Filters using the Alarm.com app

  1. Log in to the Alarm.com app.
  2. Tap Activity.
  3. Tap Ask About Activity.
  4. Enter a question or tap [Microphone] to ask a question about system activity.

To access AI Activity Filters using the GoSafer Security customer portal (powered by Alarm.com)

  1. Log in to the GoSafer Security customer portal (powered by Alarm.com).
  2. Click Activity.
  3. Click Ask About Activity.

To enable or disable AI Activity Filters using the Alarm.com app

  1. Log in to the Alarm.com app.

If the account is included in an Enterprise group, verify the desired location is selected.

  1. Tap More.
  2. Tap AI Activity Filters.
  3. Tap the Enable AI Activity Filtering toggle switch to enable or disable the feature.

How are AI Activity Filters and AI Video Event Search related?

AI Activity Filters and AI Video Event Search work together to provide a faster, more intuitive way to understand what’s happening at a property, but each feature serves a different purpose.

What It Is

A natural-language search tool that searches system-wide activity and standard video analytics only (i.e., locks, sensors, package alerts, garage door openings, Video Analytics detections, and user actions)

A natural-language search tool that scans saved video clips using identify visual details like people, vehicles, clothing, animals, or objects.

Purpose

Helps customers instantly answer what happened and when, by pulling relevant activity from the entire property without scrolling (e.g., “Who unlocked the door?” or “When was the garage opened?”).

Helps customers quickly find what the activity looked like by locating the exact video clip that matches a description or timeframe. Ideal for investigations and visual confirmation (e.g., “red truck yesterday” or “person in black hoodie last night").

Does not remember previous prompts

Currently only available on mobile

Prompts limited to 200 characters

Searches clip thumbnails only, not full recordings

U.S.–only; not available in Illinois State

Voice search is mobile-only

Are there any query types that are not supported by AI Activity Filters?

Yes. The following query types are not supported by AI Activity Filters

Search queries that include vulgar or offensive words

Requests to contact emergency services, such as “Can you call the police?” or “Call 911”

Questions that are not related to activity history at your property
