# Create/edit a shade automation schedule

*This operational reference is organized for GoSafer Security customers and staff. Alarm.com product names are retained where required for technical accuracy.*
## Overview
Once Smart Shades are integrated with Alarm.com, they can be automated using the Schedules feature.
## Procedure
### To create shade schedules using the Alarm.com app
1. Log in to the Alarm.com app.
2. Tap \[Menu\].
3. Tap Automation.
4. Tap \[Add\].
5. Tap New Schedule.
In Type Schedule Name Here, enter a name for the schedule.
1. Tap When to select the time the schedule should run.
In Time, tap to select the time for the scheduled action to run (e.g., Specific Time, Sunrise, Sunset).
### In Occurrence, tap to select one of the following options
Always will occur every day.
Specific Days will occur on the selected days of the week.
1. Verify the selection, then tap Next.
2. Tap Then to select the devices and action.
3. Select Shade as the type of device to schedule.
4. Select the specific devices.
In Status, select the action that will occur (i.e., Open, Close, Position).
If Position is selected, use the slider to select the percentage the shades should open.
1. Verify the selection, then tap Next.
### If time adjustments are desired
1. Tap the second condition card for exact or approximate time selection. (e.g., Run At Exact Times, Exactly At Sunrise, etc.).
If Specific Time was selected for When, tap Run at approximate times to give or take about 45 minutes to the entire schedule.
If Sunrise or Sunset was selected for When, use the Time Offset dropdown menu to select the amount of time before or after sunset or sunrise.
1. Tap Done.
### If a second action is desired
1. Tap Add Follow Up Action.
In Time, select when the follow-up action should occur and then tap Next.
1. Verify the schedule is configured with the correct settings.
2. Tap Save.
### To create shade schedules using the GoSafer Security customer portal (powered by Alarm.com)
1. Log in to the GoSafer Security customer portal (powered by Alarm.com).
2. Click Automation.
3. Click Schedules.
4. Click Add New Schedule.
If prompted, click New Schedule Builder.
In Type Schedule Name Here, enter a name for the schedule.
1. Click When to select the time the schedule should run.
In Time, click to select the time for the scheduled action to run (e.g., Specific Time, Sunrise, Sunset).
### In Occurrence, click to select one of the following options
