# Change the name of a thermostat

## Overview

Naming thermostats can help manage systems with multiple thermostats.

## Procedure

### To change the name of a thermostat using the Alarm.com app

1. Log in to the Alarm.com app.
2. Tap \[Menu\].
3. Tap Manage Devices.

In Thermostats tap \[More Options\] next to the thermostat.

1. Tap \[Edit\].
2. Enter the desired name for the device.
3. Tap Ok.

### To change the name of a thermostat using the GoSafer Security customer portal (powered by Alarm.com)

1. Log in to the GoSafer Security customer portal (powered by Alarm.com).

In the Thermostat card, click \[Details\].

In the card for the desired thermostat to be changed, click \[Settings\].

In the Device Name field, enter the new name for the thermostat.

1. Click \[Close\] to save.
