Can I schedule panel or Z-Wave lock codes on an Access Control account?
GoSafer Security Knowledge Base
This operational reference is organized for GoSafer Security customers and staff. Alarm.com product names are retained where required for technical accuracy.
Overview
Yes. However, this is only possible when the panel or Z-Wave lock's PIN code is managed through a Personal Access Plan. When using a standard Access Plan to manage multiple users, panel and Z-Wave pin codes cannot be scheduled and will allow 24/7 access. This occurs regardless of what the standard Access Plan schedule says due to scheduling incompatibilities between Z-Wave locks, panels, and Access Control doors. Access Control System Overview [Dropdown Arrow]
Smarter Access Control is a powerful, cloud-based access solution designed for small and medium-sized businesses. Businesses can now take advantage of powerful user management software, remote door control, and scan-to-add card serial detection all from the user-friendly GoSafer Security customer portal (powered by Alarm.com) and Alarm.com app.
Smarter Access Control can be installed as a standalone system or as an integrated solution with other intrusion and video offerings. With easy-to-create access plans and simple user management, you can automate your system using rules to reduce hassle and set up notifications so you always know who comes in and when.
System Overview
The most commonly used Access Control features are available on the Home page and User Access tab of the GoSafer Security customer portal (powered by Alarm.com) and Alarm.com app.
Home page
The Home page provides quick access to real-time door control, Scenes, and account activity.
[Home Page (Customer Site)]
Real-time door control allows you to lock, unlock, and temporarily buzz open doors. Navigate to the Access Points (called Doors in standalone Access Control systems) card on the home screen to control your doors.
[Select A Door]
[View Current Status]
User Access tab
The User Access tab is where the configuration of the system takes place. Sub-tabs are available for Access Plans, Users, Access Points, and Manage Logins.
[User Access Tab (Customer Site)]
- Add an Access Control Access Plan [Dropdown Arrow]
Access Plans allow users to have access to specific doors at specific times. Access Plans can be managed using the Alarm.com app and GoSafer Security customer portal (powered by Alarm.com). For more information, see Add an Access Plan.
Advanced filters can be used to locate a specific user or subset of users. For more information, see Search for users with filters.
Note: Changes to User Access will be sent to the system after 2 minutes of inactivity on the page.
[Access Plans Updated]
Note: To view a list of all Access Plans, click [List View] using the GoSafer Security customer portal (powered by Alarm.com) or tap Actions, then List Layout using the Alarm.com app.
Access Plan

[Access Points]
Schedules
Each day can have the same timetable or a unique schedule. Begin creating timetables by selecting one day of the week – the Edit Time Block window will appear. Choose the start and stop times, then schedules can be copied across other days using the Edit Time Block window if desired.
Note: Although you have the option of extending a timetable beyond a 24-hour period, it is a best practice to set the time block for the same day.

What is a Personal Access Plan?
GoSafer Security Knowledge Base
This operational reference is organized for GoSafer Security customers and staff. Alarm.com product names are retained where required for technical accuracy.
Overview
A Personal Access Plan applies to a single user and can be used to give a user scheduled Z-Wave lock and panel access. These devices cannot be scheduled using standard access plans due to scheduling incompatibilities between Z-Wave locks, panels, and Access Control doors. It is not possible to use Personal Access Plans for accounts with only Access Control doors securing all perimeter entrances, as they would become difficult to manage, and the Access Control schedules will naturally limit when users can access interior Z-Wave locks and the panel. Note: A user has one Personal Access Plan and they cannot be deleted.

Frequently asked questions
Can Auto Re-Arming be used with a partitioned system?
Yes. Auto Re-Arming supports partitioned systems. You can choose to automatically re-arm an individual partition or all partitions when creating an Auto Re-Arming schedule.
What is considered as no system activity?
Auto Re-Arming takes into consideration every security sensor on the system when it is looking for no activity on the system. The system looks for no activity on all the sensors before auto re-arming the partition.
Only security sensors affect auto re-arming system activity. Activity on other types of equipment (e.g., Z-Wave lights turning on/off, door locks locking/unlocking, etc.) are not considered as system activity for Auto Re-Arming.
Can more than one Auto Re-Arming schedule be set up?
Yes. Multiple Auto Re-Arming schedules can be set up for various times throughout the day.
Note: Schedules can also be set up to start in the evening and end in the morning of the following day.

Enterprise groups - Getting Started
GoSafer Security Knowledge Base
This operational reference is organized for GoSafer Security customers and staff. Alarm.com product names are retained where required for technical accuracy.
Overview
Enterprise groups allows you to manage security, automation, and business intelligence across two or more locations. You can also conveniently view the status and recent activity for multiple systems on one page. For more information about Enterprise groups, see What is an Enterprise group?.
| Platform | App + Web |
|---|---|
| Content type | Troubleshooting |
| Source last updated | 2026-06-15 |
Procedure
Configure an Enterprise group
Locations may be put into at most one Enterprise group. This can be done using the GoSafer Security customer portal (powered by Alarm.com).
Note: The accounts must be with the same dealer to be added to the same group. For accounts with different dealers, Cross-Dealer Enterprise Groups are supported in some cases. For more information, see Cross-Dealer Groups.
For more information about adding locations to an existing Enterprise group, see Add a new location to a group.
For more information about creating an Enterprise group, see Create a new Enterprise group.
Set up an Enterprise user
To allow user access to the panel locally on-site, create a new group user to add new user codes locally to the system. Creating a group user code does not give the user remote access to the GoSafer Security customer portal (powered by Alarm.com) and Alarm.com app for the system. For more information about adding group users, see Create a new group user.
To allow user remote access to the system using the Alarm.com app and GoSafer Security customer portal (powered by Alarm.com), create a new group login for the system. Creating a group login does not give the user a local code for on-site access to the panel. For more information about adding a group login, see Create a new group login.
Some best practices for setting up Enterprise users
Before you begin, export the current panel slot numbers as a backup reference. This report shows all users and their assigned slot numbers across all systems in the group. If users need to be manually restored after an error, this file will be the only reference. PIN codes are not included in the export. For more information, see Export panel slot numbers for a group.
Determine which account will be the primary login (e.g., corporate office, headquarters). Create the first Enterprise group under this account. The primary login will have administrator rights to manage the Enterprise group.
An Enterprise user can be granted access to multiple locations within a group of locations. An Enterprise Administrator can configure permissions for Enterprise Users so that they have access to all locations, some locations, or no locations within a group. One possible reason to set up an Enterprise User without access to any locations would be for them to receive notifications but not be able to disarm a system.
- Enterprise users with location access need a user code. Once added through the Alarm.com GoSafer Security customer portal (powered by Alarm.com), this user code is pushed to the alarm panel for each location where they will be granted access to panels, keypads, or smart locks.
- Add an email and/or phone number of the Enterprise user so they can receive email/text notifications (e.g., alarms, open/close emails).
If applicable, add cards and PIN codes to allow Access Control users to gain access to doors with card readers or keypads.
If you have existing User codes on the Single System level that you would like span across multiple locations, the users must be deleted from individual locations and recreated on the Enterprise Group level.
Removing users from a single system and adding to Enterprise
If the user is currently receiving text or push notifications, please make note of their mobile carrier and other details that will need to be entered again when the user is recreated.
For Concord and Neo panels must be disarmed when adding or removing users.
Once a user is added to Enterprise, do not arm, enter programming, send other remote commands, or power cycle the panel for 5 to 10 minutes after adding a user.
After a user is deleted, select the refresh icon on the top right corner of the webpage. If this is not done, the GoSafer Security customer portal (powered by Alarm.com) may display a warning message saying the code is already in use when you try to recreate the user in the Enterprise.
- Add business hours
Business hours make it easier to configure and manage commercial features like reporting, arming schedules, auto re-arming, and notifications.
For information about creating a business hours template to apply to locations, see Create a Business Hours Template.
- Add reports
Smarter Business Reports allow further awareness of what is happening at each location. For information about enabling reports, see Enable Smarter Business Reports.
- Add notifications
By setting up notifications, you will have constant awareness of what is happening at your business, even when you are not there. For more information about creating and editing notifications, see Create/edit Enterprise Notifications.
For more information about the different types of notifications that can be created, see Enterprise Location Management.
- Enterprise group best practices
There are various ways to set up Enterprise groups and get the most from them depending on the customer's situation.
Scenario 1
Various managers can be given different levels of access to specific locations.
Example: The customer has 8 restaurants and each restaurant has its own manager
and staff. There are also 2 regional managers. The customer wants the owner and regional manager to to oversee and control access to all locations while allowing each individual manager to control access and staffing for their specific location.
For this example, it is recommended that the owner and regional managers be given
logins to the Enterprise group and have their user profiles created at the Enterprise
level. Their Enterprise login will allow them to manage each of the properties based
on the login permissions and their Enterprise user profiles can be given access to
any device that exists in the group from the Enterprise level.
The owner or regional manager can then give individual store managers login access to their specific location so they can manage their staff at the single system level. The Enterprise logins can still make changes if needed, and any access granted to the Enterprise Users
cannot be overridden by a single system login.
Scenario 2
Employee access may vary or change frequently.
Example: The customer manages eight warehouses with minimal local staffing but has a network of 30 drivers that may need access to one or multiple sites at any given
time.
For this example, it is recommended to create the majority of the user profiles on
the Enterprise level. The drivers may need access to multiple sites at a time, so managing them at the Enterprise level would allow the customer to grant a specific driver access to multiple properties using a few clicks. It is recommended to limit the number of single system users to avoid duplicate users and credentials from being created by accident. For this type of setup, it is not uncommon for only the default master user to exist on most of the properties.

Promote users
GoSafer Security Knowledge Base
This operational reference is organized for GoSafer Security customers and staff. Alarm.com product names are retained where required for technical accuracy.
Overview
Promoting a user moves them from a lower level to the group level. It also finds duplicate users and merges them together.
| Platform | General / Device |
|---|---|
| Content type | How-to / Configuration |
| Source last updated | 2025-06-04 |
Procedure
Are there any users that would not have the option to be promoted?
Yes. Certain users will not have the option to be promoted. This includes the Master user, a duress code user, any users who are already Enterprise users, and any users that are part of a user group on a single system level.
How are duplicates detected?
Duplicates are detected by looking for an exact credential and last name match. The users must have the same name and the same credentials at different sites to be detected as a duplicate.
Note: If two users have the same name, but have different credentials at different locations, they will not be detected as duplicates.
What happens when a user is promoted?
When a user is promoted, the name and history of the user who was originally selected will be retained. All other users will be merged into the original user.
The merged user will maintain device access by staying in the lower-level Access Plan and can be edited from the immediate next-level group. The merged users will be removed from reports and notification subscriptions.
