Which actions will trigger a Live Activity?
An action conducted directly in the app (e.g., arming the panel, unlocking a lock, opening a garage door, etc.) triggers a Live Activity. Automation features such as rules, schedules, and Smart Arming will not trigger Live Activities since they are initiated without direct actions.
How many devices can be displayed at once?
Multiple devices can be displayed at once. If more than one device is polling at a given time, the Live Activities will stack on the lock screen similar to how notifications stack. On the Dynamic Island, up to two in-progress device command actions may be displayed at a given time. The time for completion varies from a few seconds to a few minutes depending on the device being used.
Is Live Activities supported on other devices?
Yes. It is also available and supported on iPad with OS17+ and Apple Watch with OS 11+.
