Create/edit an Alarm reported notification

This operational reference is organized for GoSafer Security customers and staff. Alarm.com product names are retained where required for technical accuracy.

Overview

An alarm reported notification can notify users if there has been an alarm event at the property.

Procedure

To create/edit an Alarm reported notification using the Alarm.com app

1. Log in to the Alarm.com app.
2. Tap [Menu].
3. Tap Notifications.
4. Tap [Settings].

To edit the notification, tap to select the Alarm reported notification.

If the notification has not been created

1. Tap [Add].
2. Tap Use A Template.

In Business, tap Alarm reported.

Name the notification rule.

In When Alarm of type, select Audible, Silent, or both.

In Is reported by, select Any Sensor unless a specific sensor is to be monitored.

Caution: Do not choose to send a Duress Panic SMS or push notification to a potential Duress Code user.

1. Tap Add.
2. Tap the entries in Address Book to be notified, or tap Add Contact to add a new Address Book entry.
3. Tap Close.
4. Verify the notification is configured with the correct settings.
5. Tap Save.

To create/edit an Alarm reported notification using the GoSafer Security customer portal (powered by Alarm.com)

1. Log in to the GoSafer Security customer portal (powered by Alarm.com).
2. Click Notifications.

To edit the notification, click [Edit] for the alarm reported notification.

If the notification has not been created

1. Click New Notification.
2. Click to select Business.
3. Click Alarm reported.

Name the notification rule.

In When Alarm of type, select the alarm types to receive notifications about.

In Is reported by, select Any Sensor unless a specific sensor is to be monitored.

Caution: Do not choose to send a Duress Panic SMS or push notification to a potential Duress Code user.

To choose notification recipients, click Add.

1. Click the entries in Address Book to be notified, or click +New to add a new Address Book entry.
2. Click Close.
3. Verify the notification is configured with the correct settings.
4. Click Save.
